Trimurti (Lord Vishnu, Lord Siva and Lord Brahma) at one temple

Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Brahma are considered as the most important gods in the Hindu Mythology. The three Lords are called as holy trinity or Trimurti of Hinduism. People can find countless temples in India for individual lords. The sanctuaries where Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Lord Brahma found together are quite rare. There are very few temples across the world where deities are Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara all the three supreme gods are worshipped at once, some of them are located at Prambanan temple at Java, Indonesia,  Thripaya Trimurti Temple at Thrissur, Kerala, Uthamar Kovil  in Trichy, Tamilnadu, and Sucheendram near Kanyakumari, Tamilnadu. Temples usually opens at 6, as a typical ritual Bhajan aarti is performed as soon as the temple is opened in the morning. Each of these temples is unique in their own way. Prambanan Temple

Prambanan sanctuary at Java, Indonesia is the most popular temple in the world. It is renowned for its exceptional architecture. This glorious ancient sanctuary is built during the ninth century and is devoted to the Trimurti. The sanctuary holds the pride of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site and biggest Hindu sanctuary in Indonesia, and one of the greatest temple in Southeast Asia. In addition to the three discrete sanctuaries of the principal deities, there are separate temples for their vahanas too. On the whole, the sanctuary comprises 3 Trimurti sanctuaries, 3 Vahana sanctuaries, 2 Apit sanctuaries, 4 Kelir sanctuaries, 4 Patok sanctuaries, and 224 Pervara sanctuaries. These Hundreds of sanctuaries are organized in 4 concentric square rows, a number of sanctuaries from the internal line to external line. The temple opens at 6 am and closes at 5pm after the temple opens rituals and puja is performed individually for principle deities, this includes Shiv Aarti.


Thripaya Trimurti Temple

Thripaya Trimurti Temple is a popular Hindu sanctuary located in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur. It is the few temples across the world where the Trimurti placed in one platform in same sanctum sanctorum. As the deity is placed in the same platform, here devotes can worship all the three deities at once.

Uthamarkoil Temple

Uthamarkoil temple in Tamilnadu is another sanctuary of Trimurti's (Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva). Uthamarkoil is a small town situated in the edges of Tiruchirappalli in the South territory of Tamil Nadu. Next to Thripaya Trimurti Temple in Thrissur, this sanctuary is one of few sanctuaries in India where the Trimurti, Vishnu, Shiva, and Brahma are housed in the same sanctum sanctorum.

Sthanumalayan Temple


Sthanumalayan temple in Sucheendram located near Kanyakumari is a popular temple where Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva are worshipped in a solitary form called 'Sthanumalayan'. This seventeenth-century sanctuary is well known for its architectural style and religious significance. The seven-story white Gopuram is an example of the architectural marvel.  The sanctuary reveres 'Sri Sthanumalaya', the Trinity of God. Vishnu AartiThe principal deity is in the linga shape and divided into three sections. The first part of the name represents "Sthanu" name of Lord Siva, the center "Mal" name of Lord Vishnu, and the last represents "Aya" name of Lord Brahma. The religious importance of the sanctuary depends on the way that the fundamental idol of linga represents Lord Siva (Sthanu), Lord Vishnu(Maal) and Lord Brahma(Ayan), giving the sanctuary its name. The Abhisheka for principal lingam occurs every day at 4.15am and daily pooja at 5.30am.
